Description

Very few galaxies visible to amateurs contain as many H II regions as this system in Camelopardalis; it is literally infested with red blotches over its small size of 50,000 light years diameter. The largest of these, NGC-2404, is massive, over 940 light years across. We are separated from 2403 by 8 million light years of space.
